It’s important to note that access to health records linked to Health IDs or ABHA numbers requires the individual’s informed consent. Additionally, individuals have the option to create an alias known as an “ABHA address,” similar to an email ID (e.g., xyz@ndhm) with a password.

- The ABHA number serves as a unique 14-digit identifier, allowing for the management of an individual’s health records across various healthcare providers. During ABHA registration, a Personal Health Record (PHR) or ABHA address is generated alongside the ABHA number.
- The ABHA address functions as a self-designated username, akin to an email address, enabling access to the Health Information Exchange and consent manager platforms. Additionally, the PHR app or Health Locker facilitates the receipt, storage, and sharing of medical records between patients and healthcare service providers.
Here are the steps to create an ABHA ID card
- Visit the official ABHA website and click on ‘Create ABHA number‘.
- Choose between using your Aadhaar card or driver’s license, then proceed by clicking ‘Next’.
- Enter your Aadhaar or license number as per your selection. Ensure to carefully read the declaration.
- Agree to the declaration and enter the one-time passcode sent to your registered mobile number.
- Click ‘Submit’. This action will successfully generate your ABHA identity card.
To download your ABHA Health Card
- Visit the official ABDM website at https://abdm.gov.in/. Log in to your ABHA account and download your ABHA card directly.
- Alternatively, utilize the ABHA mobile app. For Android users, the app is available for download on the Play Store. Log in to your ABHA account within the app and download your ABHA card.
