You can find the details of the list of Mandals in Warangal District and the list of Revenue Divisions in Warangal District on the official website of Warangal District, warangal.telangana.gov.in. Warangal district is one of the 33 districts in the Indian state of Telangana and holds significant importance.

In the era of the Kakatiya dynasty, the capital of their kingdom was known as “Orugallu” or Ekasila Nagar. A fort was constructed in this region, later called “Warangal.” Warangal served as the ancient capital of the Kakatiya dynasty and witnessed the rule of notable monarchs like Beta Raja-I, Prola Raja-I, Beta Raja-II, Prola Raja-II, Rudra Deva, Mahadeva, Ganapathi Deva, Pratapa Rudra, and Rani Rudrama Devi, the sole female ruler of that time.

The Kakatiyas left behind numerous monuments, including an impressive fortress, four massive stone gateways, a large Shaivite temple, and a lake. They built several Shaivite temples and expansive lakes for irrigation purposes. Following the Kakatiya rule, the region came under the dominion of the Delhi Sultanate, followed by the Nayaka and the Bahmani Sultanate of Golkonda. Subsequently, it was annexed by the Mughal Empire in 1687 and became a part of Hyderabad state in 1724.

The city of Warangal boasts a unique and invaluable heritage, exemplified by the thousand-pillar temple. This temple, constructed centuries ago by the Kakatiya dynasty rulers, features exquisite sculptures on its ramparts, making it a captivating destination for tourists visiting Warangal. Another historic site in the city is the Bhadrakali temple, dedicated to the mother of goddesses, Kali Matha or Bhadrakali Ammavaru. Situated amidst the lush greenery of the hilly region, this temple offers a picturesque setting near the Bhadrakali Lake, close to Hanmakonda, approximately 2 km from Warangal city.
